BCU Star Awards
Star Awards 1, 2 and 3 New Style

Please phone with your own dates. A minimum of 2 people are required to run a course.

Example - 2 Star award (new syllabus). The award is obtained by taking the assessment in both a kayak and a canoe.

For the assessment you need to be able to:
  • Have an efficient forward paddling stroke
  • Move sideways
  • Turn
  • Manoeuvre in a confined space
  • Capsize, swim and self rescue
  • Rescue peers

These are just some of the requirements for an assessment at 2 Star level. All of this will be covered on the training course including 2 journeys of at least 2 hours duration in 2 different locations.

Training 2 days £130

Assessment 1 day £90

3 Star award (new syllabus). This is a discipline specific award and is a pre-requisite for BCU Level 2 Coach.

3 Star Canoe Training 2 days £140

3 Star Sea Kayak Training 2 days £140

3 Star Touring Award Training 2 days £140

Assessment for any of the above awards

1 day £90
