Scrambling in the Lake District
Scrambling falls between walking and climbing where the hands would normally be required to help upward progress. The rope may be used on some of the harder scrambles depending upon the weather and your ability. No previous scrambling or rope work experience is required as tuition will be given when necessary but a good head for heights is obviously needed. All of the technical equipment is provided – harnesses, helmets, ropes etc. but you will need your own rucksack, waterproofs, walking boots, hill clothing, food and drink for the day.

Beginners/Intermediate Scrambling in the Lake District

On the 2 day course we hope to climb various different classic scrambles from grade 1 to 3 depending upon the weather, your aspirations and your ability. On the 5 day course you can start off on a grade 1 scramble on day one and by the end of the week you may be leading your own grade 3 scrambles!!! On the 5 day course we normally include the 2 day rope work course (see below) as part of the course if you wish.

On these courses most of our clients tend to organise their own accommodation whether it be camping, a youth hostel, B&B or a hotel. We will use Keswick and Ambleside areas as a base.
